Among our collaborators you will find Kassandra Thatcher, the ceramic artist behind five handcrafted sconces in our entry and main space. Miele, whose four appliances outfit our custom production-ready kitchen. The Splash Lab, fabricators of our custom Corian trough sink and integrated planter. Willis, who supplied our Lapitec sintered stone countertops and Fenix cabinet fronts.

Lacuna custom high end kitchen designed and fabricated by Studio 1/32 Los Angeles

STUDIO 1/32

Studio 1/32 played a central role in shaping the interior of Lacuna. They designed and fabricated our custom high-end kitchen, including the island and floating shelves, along with the bathroom vanity, storage cabinet, and office cabinetry. The office pieces feature reclaimed wood tops and a custom floating black metal desk. Their precision, design skill, and commitment to detail helped set the standard for what Lacuna has become.

KASSANDRA THATCHER

Kassandra Thatcher is a master sculptor and ceramic designer whose handcrafted work appears in galleries and showrooms worldwide. At Lacuna, she created five custom ceramic sconces that bring organic, illuminated warmth to our entry and main space. Her work in handcrafted ceramics is some of the most distinctive you will find in any Los Angeles venue.

WILLIS

Willis supplied the premium materials for Lacuna's kitchen and bathroom. This includes Lapitec sintered stone countertops and Fenix cabinet fronts, two of the most durable and design-forward surfacing materials available. Their contribution is a key part of what makes Lacuna's kitchen stand apart from typical event venue spaces.

Lacuna's custom kitchen is outfitted with four Miele appliances: a graphite M Touch convection oven, built-under refrigerator, flush-mount induction cooktop, and fully integrated dishwasher. The result is a kitchen that works as beautifully as it photographs, making it one of the most production-ready kitchens available in a Los Angeles event venue or photo studio.

THE SPLASH LAB

The custom trough sink at Lacuna was designed by Dre Shapiro and fabricated by The Splash Lab. It integrates a built-in Corian planter, with all Corian material sourced and crafted by Splash Lab. The piece is a standout example of the sustainable, design-led approach taken throughout the space.

Berbere Imports contributed several standout pieces to Lacuna's interior, including a vintage rustic wood console table in the entry, a collection of white-washed terracotta planters throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces, and a tree stump coffee table. Each piece adds warmth and a timeless, organic quality to the overall space.

Kebony supplied the sustainably modified wood used on the exterior of Lacuna's bath house building. Installed as horizontal and diagonal slats, the material brings a natural, architectural quality to the facade while offering exceptional durability. TWENTIETH AND ROSS GARDAM

Through Twentieth, a distinguished furniture and lighting showroom in Los Angeles, Lacuna features two large solid oak pendant lights by designer Ross Gardam, installed above the sink in the bath house. Handcrafted and sustainably made, these pendants are a focal point of the room and a reflection of the design standard held throughout the space.

Lacuna features 22 System's patented flush-mount outlets, integrated into the kitchen backsplash, island, and bathroom. With no visible fasteners or cover plates, they contribute to the clean, minimal aesthetic that runs throughout the space. It is the kind of detail most people feel before they notice it.

Ferguson supplied a range of fixtures and hardware throughout Lacuna, including the kitchen faucet, water filter, kitchen sink, ADA bathroom sink and faucet, door knobs, and locks. Every piece was chosen for both function and design, contributing to the cohesive look and feel of the space.

HEDsouth handled all audio and security technology at Lacuna, including the full Sonos indoor and outdoor speaker system and security cameras. Jan and the team brought real expertise to the technical side of the build, ensuring every electrical and audio element worked seamlessly. Their contribution is felt every time music fills the courtyard.

LARA HOAD ARCHITECTURE DESIGN

Lara Hoad Architecture Design, based in Los Angeles, was the architectural partner behind Lacuna. Lara's practice is known for innovative design, a collaborative approach, and a genuine commitment to community. Together, Dre and Lara developed the spatial vision for Lacuna from the ground up, integrating the outdoor courtyard, the distinct entry and office, and the separate bath house building. The result exceeded expectations and set the foundation for everything that followed.
